Welcome. I am Chris Dahl, here I use rokrok in Pidgin refers to frogs for their loud rok_rok call. A new species of a tree frog which was collected by me. So I get to be named Litoria chrisdahli or otherwise rokrokdahli. I have a general interest in tropical ecology...more particular in community ecology, seeds/fruits and insect predation, patterns of distribution, frog disease and taxonomy.
In the past years, I worked on patterns of frog diversity in lowland rain forest of northern Papua New Guinea as part of my honours thesis through Wildlife Conservation Society, Goroka and University of Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby. Further, I moved to do my masters thesis which looked at species richness, community composition and distribution of frogs along an altitudinal gradient of Papua New Guinea under The New Guinea Binatang Research Center, Madang and University of Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby. Currently, I have a new interest on seed and fruit feeding insects of Wanang's Center for Tropical Forest Science forest plot of Papua New Guinea.
I will be on and off the lowland and highland sites for frogs and seed/fruit feeding predators.
While I also like to explore and be in those unusual environment, hiking, scuba diving and soccer.
